AMANDA GRACE: US Yachts 27

Our US Yachts 27, "Amanda Grace" is sold. Our scouts and adults had put a lot into fixing her up. We enjoyed a couple very nice of sails with her, but she's really a bay boat, and most of our sailing is local.

The boat functions well and is extremely well balanced. Take your hands off the wheel and she stays right on course!

"Amanda Grace" has an alcohol stove in the galley, a Bimini, sail cover, sails, a Volvo Penta 8hp one-cylinder diesel engine, wheel steering, a Selden roller furler on the 150 Genny, and a walk-in head with new head unit. We asked Friends of Sea Scouts of Maryland, a non-profit created to support the Sea Scout program, to sell the boat and keep the money to support FoSSoM's main charge, the regional training vessel, DER PELIKAN, a 37' Morgan ketch.

We loved Amanda Grace, and she was the focal point for starting our ship. Now she belongs to a young man who lives aboard her while attending college in South Carolina.
